Our Story
We started building because Seattle deserves better outdoor spaces.
Timber & Rain was founded on a simple observation: Seattle homeowners were spending too much on outdoor projects that weren’t built for Seattle weather. Decks rotting after five years. Patios flooding in November. Pergolas that looked great in the showroom but couldn’t handle a real Pacific Northwest winter.
As a licensed general contractor with over a decade of experience building in the Seattle metro area, we knew there was a better way. We started Timber & Rain to bring together climate-smart design, quality materials, and the kind of craftsmanship that used to be standard.
Every project we take on is permitted, inspected, and built to last. We know Seattle’s building codes because we work with them every day. We know which materials perform here because we’ve tested them through a dozen rainy seasons.

What We Stand For
Our values
Craftsmanship Over Shortcuts
Every joint is tight. Every board is straight. Every fastener is where it should be. We don't cut corners because you'll be living with this build for decades.
Built for This Climate
We don't pretend it doesn't rain here. Every design decision — material choice, drainage plan, structural detail — accounts for Seattle's 37 inches of annual rainfall.
Owner-Direct Communication
You talk to the owner — not a project manager or sales rep. The owner is on-site, personally available by phone or WhatsApp, and accountable from first conversation to final walkthrough. No surprises, no middlemen.
Local Knowledge
Seattle permitting, King County codes, neighborhood-specific building requirements. We navigate the bureaucracy so you don't have to.
