Our Story
Built on 20 years of getting it done.
Before Timber & Rain, Erik Cullen spent nearly a decade at Habitat for Humanity — first running a regional affiliate, then stepping up as construction supervisor for Habitat for Humanity International’s disaster response to Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. He managed crews, navigated complex logistics, and delivered results when the stakes were highest.
Back in Seattle, Erik co-founded City Forge, a development holding company built around better construction processes. By sourcing directly and refining build systems, City Forge cut construction costs by $25 per square foot and shortened build timelines to 4–6 months on single-family homes — numbers the industry still rarely achieves.
Over the following decade, Erik developed infill single-family and small multifamily projects across the Seattle metro area, and owned and operated both a plumbing company and an electrical company — giving him end-to-end fluency across every trade that matters in residential construction.
Timber & Rain is what happens when someone with that background goes deep on one thing: outdoor living. Every project gets 20+ years of construction, development, and trades experience — and the owner’s direct involvement from first conversation to final walkthrough.

What We Stand For
Our values
Integrity
We do what we say we'll do. If something changes, you hear it from us first — not when you see the invoice.
Honesty
No inflated numbers, no fake reviews, no promises we can't keep. We'd rather lose a job than mislead a client.
Accountability
The owner's name is on every project. If something goes sideways, you don't get a call center — you get Erik.
Value
We control costs through direct supplier relationships and efficient build processes — not by cutting corners. Better quality, better pricing, no tradeoffs.
Owner-Direct Communication
You talk to the owner — not a project manager or sales rep. Erik is personally available by phone or WhatsApp, and accountable from first conversation to final walkthrough. No surprises, no middlemen.
